Waipapa Taumata Rau merch during Te Wiki o te Reo Māori

In 2021, the University of Auckland was honoured to receive its new Māori name, Waipapa Taumata Rau, from the Ngāti Whatua Orakei community in an official gifting ceremony, marking a moment of cultural celebration and recognition.

To celebrate Te Wiki o te Reo Māori, our campus store proudly launched the new Waipapa Taumata Rau collection this year in September. Featuring T-shirts, hoodies and caps in classic black and white, the collection offers a timeless way to express your connection to and appreciation for Māori culture.

Wiki Whai Hauora 2023

Each semester the Student Wellbeing team host Wiki Whai Hauora, a week where we encourage students to pursue health and support their physical and mental wellbeing.
